Sitarah Anjum’s Story

Like many other immigrants, I had my share of hardships, struggles, difficulties and challenges in life which made me the person I am. My personal life experiences and difficulties led me to politics and I started taking interest in local and national issues in Britain.  I felt a strong desire to contribute and return the kindness and hospitality this country gave me by fighting for justice, equality and fairer society for all. I felt compelled to serve the people and different communities in this country who somewhat lost trust in politics and politicians and rightly so.  This is the reason why I joined Labour Party as it is aligned to my values and beliefs and it stands up for the working class people of this country.
