I recall my first meeting with Sitarah in 2012 when I went to attend Ealing North’s monthly meeting. It was the first time I was attending, so I personally didn’t know any one there. When I entered into the meeting hall a smiling face approached me with open hands and a warm and familiar looks as though she had known me for ages. She warmly shook my hands and then proceeded to introduce me to the other Labour members, who have been like family to me since then. Sitarah was a Councillor for Perivale ward in North Ealing in those days and it was her first election which she won from Tory ward.
I found her very pleasant, with an out going personality and good social skills. It was amazing to observe her confidence and commitment for her constituents as well as labour party’s politics and values. I personally know that Sitarah earned respect by engaging with residents and being available for them.
She is now councillor of another Ealing North ward Cleveland which was traditionally a conservative seat for almost 50 years but Sitarah ousted the last Tory councillor in 2018 council elections, which undoubtedly is a remarkable achievement.
Sitarah is a genuine person who is an asset for the party. She shares Labour Party’ values and believes in upholding social justice, equality and fairness amongst all communities. I am glad she wishes to embark on new heights to be a member of Parliament. I wholeheartedly recommend her as she will make a caring and listening MP.

Sitarah Anjum has been Labour Councillor in Cleveland Ward, Ealing North , since a hard fought campaign in May 2018 which she won with an increased majority. Sitarah has the experience, knowledge and ethics to be a suitable prospective parliamentary candidate.
